Steel Pulse’s third album was titled Reggae Fever in the U.S., and Caught You in Europe. Here the group’s well established themes remained pretty much the same: Rastafarian doctrine (“Nyahbinghi Voyage”), Babylon’s intolerance for same (“Harassment,” “Drug Squad”), the complexities of love and romance (“Rumours”), and the pleasures of reggae music itself (“Reggae Fever,” “Caught You Dancing”). The songs are getting hookier, however, and the production is getting slicker, foreshadowing Steel Pulse’s eventual emergence as leading avatars of pop reggae.
