Celeste cover
Released

Like Stereolab in beads and kaftans, Nottingham’s The Soundcarriers transmitted their retro-futurist sounds along an altogether floatier wavelength. Released in 2010, their second album Celeste presented a gorgeous fantasia of acid folk, psychedelia and spacious krautrock grooves. Tracks such as Neu!-like opener Last Broadcast, Long Highway’s Pied Piper trance and the fleetfooted, flute-powered There Only Once provide intricate drifts to fall back and get lost in. Love for the record has grown over time and it was recently reissued by with a clutch of extra material showcasing some excellent, cinematic instrumentals.
