Chill Out

Released

One of the few fully reggae albums recorded with the entire Compass Point All Stars lineup of musicians, with rhythm section Sly & Robbie on production duties – this 1982 album is in many ways a high point for the genre for production values. It has all the gloss of the most expensive 80s mega albums, but all the quirk and liquidity of the greatest 70s roots and dub, with Michael Rose in inspirational proclamatory Rasta preacher form and Derrick “Duckie” Simpson and Puma Jones harmonising beautifully in support.
