Double Hipness

Released

While many but not of all its tracks ended up on later reissues, Double Hipness, itself released as part of an initial reissue wave in 2000, remains a key addendum to the overall Associates story, covering a slew of otherwise then-unreleased or thoroughly obscure numbers from the original Billy Mackenzie/Alan Rankine partnership. This includes both their first, very Sparks-like demos with cabaret players in Scotland, with amusing titles like “The Shadow Of My Lung,” and the songs from their abortive 1992 reunion, including the original “At The Edge Of The World.”
