This New Orleans quartet reinvigorates synth punk by animating a set of sophisticated, danceable songs of radical queer politics with confrontational vocals and elemental electronics. “(Herman’s) House” is a soulful, powerful solidarity call with a distorted house beat. Further in that direction is “Midnight Legend,” which plays like a lost disco classic. “Kurdish Radio” and “Cherry Blue Intention” bring the noise expected from synth punk, and Endure is an excellent representation of the genre.

There’s a real sense of beautiful mayhem here, a little like The B-52s gone political and aggro, or simple decades of musical and political resistance coalescing in one spot and getting lit on fire (accidentally).
