Bristol’s Flying Saucer Attack was burdened early on with claims for them as the new My Bloody Valentine, but while the volume could be similar, the aesthetic approach was something different. By the time of Further, that approach was all the more clear, a fusion of acoustic-inspired approaches retrospectively deemed acid folk with walls and waves of feedback for texture and drive. Songs like “In the Light of Time” seemed like they were simultaneously whispered and howling in one’s ear.
