Galaxy

Baldheaded, silver-painted weirdos from Europe (or maybe Europa), Rockets orbited around Italo disco, space rock, and synthpop but belonged to none of those planetary bodies. A deadpan vocodered voice drones about synthetic men, never-ending missions, and event horizons while synthesizers and mirror balls shimmer behind him. Their guitar lasers slice open a hole in the fabric of the universe to let Pink Floyd into their galaxy. Interstellar instrumental “Prophecy” has been covered by prog metal bands and Daft Punk borrowed their keyboardist’s headgear, but “Galactica” is the real star destroyer here, blowing up Cylons left and right with its irrepressible beat and tractor beam of a hook.
