Going Blank Again

Released

Having helped almost define a perfect stereotype of shoegaze on their initial EPs and debut album Nowhere, Ride returned in 1992 to begin a careful look back into deeper roots of rock with Going Blank Again. If the lengthy opener “Leave Them All Behind” nods to the Who with the keyboards, the soaring crunch and harmonies are all their own, while the album’s general range from the giddy pop of “Twisterella” to the crushing melancholy of “Cool Your Boots” and the wistful wish for home on “OX4” suits the band’s strengths.
