Heaven Come Crashing

Released

Rachika Nayar’s 2021 debut Hands Against The Dusk screwed, chopped, spooled and span the Brooklyn-based guitarist’s Vini Reilly-like arpeggios into inventive knots and shimmering pools of sound. For the follow up, Nayar looked to electronic music to create a record with a sense of scale and wonder so epic in its proportions that it made it feel like you were listening in to the cosmos itself. From the twinkling stargazing of opener “Our Wretched Fantasy” to the way the title track’s heavenly slow burn launches itself into a supernova of clattering rave beats and solar flare synthesizers, Heaven Come Crashing is an awe-inspiring piece of work.
