This 2009 collaboration teamed super-soulful reggae vocalist Horace Andy with UK producer/DJ Ashley Beedle for an album that deftly joins the dots between classic Jamaican reggae and contemporary club sounds. Beedle uses all sorts of reggae rhythms and dub-style licks across the tracks, some of which are straight-up reggae but some of which are closer to trip-hop or R’n’B. It’s a really successful hybrid project and Beedle’s production provides an intriguing, involving and updated musical backdrop for Andy’s highly distinctive reggae-soul croon.
