The Peak Oil sound is unbeatable—that aquatic Basic Channel digi-gloop paired with a rhythmic vibe right out of Detroit or Plastikman. Hoavi is one of the label’s stronger acts, less minimal than Topdown Dialectic but no less elegant. Wet and sparkly and balanced despite all the richness. Minor classic.
