The fourth album from East coast funksters The Fatback Band is a mix of mostly funk with some soul tracks mixed in. And while the wide-eyed innocence of soul songs like ‘Can’t Stop The Flame’ and ‘Breaking Up With Someone You Love Is Hard To Do’ are beguiling, it’s the dance floor tracks on this album that have really stood the test of time, with ‘Wicky Wacky’s beat still proving irresistible several decades on. Likewise the street funk of ‘Mr Bass Man’ and the title track showcase a band who could lock-in tight.
