Labradford

Released

Guitar, bass, and keyboard became three very stable dragons in this band, where quiet and loud somehow became the same thing. There was maybe a germ of this band in Seventeen Seconds, or passages in Love records—hard to say. The ASMR vocals were decades ahead of the curve, and the sensation of slowly falling into an ice bath was also bound for glory. Few bands are aging into A+ relevance like Labradford. Chris Johnston’s violin is a huge part of this record, and the whole thing is good enough that I hope they reboot this.
