Lady On The Green (Old Time Tunes & Songs)

Released

Rafe Stefanini and his daughter Clelia are both accomplished fiddlers in a variety of pre-bluegrass, old-time styles, and for this album put together a program of traditional tunes and songs that draw in particular on the repertoire of Missouri fiddlers Max and Earl Collins. There are familiar session favorites like “Dusty Miller” and “Shove the Pig’s Foot a Little Further into the Fire,” but much of the album is given over to tunes that even practicing old-time musicians are likely not to have heard, making this a highly useful as well as an enjoyable album.
