Live the Storm

Live The Storm, the fourth and to-date final album by Sweden’s Disfear, is the closest D-beat has ever gotten to arena rock. Fronted by Tomas Lindberg of melodic death metal pioneers At The Gates, with guitar from Uffe Cederlund, formerly of Entombed, this album throws Discharge, Motörhead, Bad Religion and the Ramones into the cauldron and comes out with 10 tracks in 35 minutes that will make you want to run down the street shoving your head through car windows. Producer Kurt Ballou had the brilliant idea to mix the drums in mono, and plant them right in the center of the mix; it’s like Marcus Andersson is smashing you right in the back of the head. But Disfear have more to offer than raw rage; these are actual songs that anyone can pump their fist and shout along with.
