Backed by Ron McClure on bass and Bill Connors on guitar, along with a slew of others, Priester sandwiches two 20-minute suits between a “Prologue” and brass-laden “Epilogue.” With an unrelenting commitment to the moment, the band throws out phenomenal morsels for our aural mastication, including the flute playing of Hadley Caliman and the pianism of Bayete Umbra Zindiko. Tying it all together is Priester’s rare brand of ecstatic peace, ever on fire yet cool to the touch.
