Lovelife

Released

What turned out to be a welcome second commercial and critical wind for Lush turned into unimaginable tragedy at the end of that same year when drummer Chris Acland’s passing led to the group’s splintering. The impact was more keenly felt precisely because Lovelife had done the business so well; the group’s acid wit and spirited kick on songs like “Ladykillers” and “Single Girl” scored them some well deserved hits, while Miki Berenyi’s duet with Jarvis Cocker on “Ciao!” made for an amazing kiss-off number for those times in your life when you need that.
