The Zimbabwean band exploded on the international scene with their mix of hip hop, rock, funk, and African rhythms, but on this album they opt for a much more stripped down, acoustic sound, without losing any of their power. They focus on the traditional sounds and rhythms of the Luvale and Tonga cultures from their native Victoria Falls region, and combine driving percussion, dreamy acoustic guitar, and blissful vocal harmonies to create an upbeat, spirited atmosphere across the record. This is a great group effort, and you can feel the contribution of each member, but Mathias Muzaza’s gruff, powerful voice is one of  Mokoomba’s most recognizable features.
