Momentary Presence

Released

After a series of singles from 2020 forward, the New York based neo-psych/shoegaze band Gift took a full length plunge with Momentary Presence, an album that at once feels like the sum of its many roots and influences and an elegant summary and transformation of same, right from the opening reverb and closing noise collage of “Can You Feel It Come Around?” Frontman TJ Freda has the kind of engaging sigh singing that suits a lot of this sonic approach, and whether it’s steady motorik drive, Swervedriver-style sprawl or cascading blissout, it’s all pretty good.
