You would not immediately think that an artist who works largely with recordings of ice would have such compelling work, but Matsumoto does. You become familiar with the ripples and bonging echoes here, and later, as sound effects in movies, they begin to read to you as melody. Matsumoto heard it first, and finds an orchestra in the ice.
