Pure Thrillseekers

Dub Syndicate released many albums under its own name, all of which featured varying degrees of participation from other singers and players, but on this one they function most explicitly as a backing band for an array of roots singers: Cornell Campbell, Luciano, Gregory Isaacs, Junior Reid, and others all benefit from the powerful grooves generated by drummer Lincoln “Style” Scott, bassist Errol “Flabba” Holt, and a varying array of other session players. Highlight tracks include Luciano’s religiously devoted “One in a Billion” and Cornell Campbell’s outstanding “Tricks.”
