Refried Ectoplasm [Switched On Volume 2]

Released

Some of Stereolab’s best material appeared on limited edition singles, tour editions, and other collector formats. Their Switched On series does an admirable job of pulling all of these loose ends together. Refried Ectoplasm is probably the best one; covering material from 1992 and 1993, it’s proof of the winning streak the group were on at the time, making play with pop and the avant-garde, fitting the puzzle of music together in unexpected ways, and on their Nurse With Wound collaboration, going astral with the gnarliest Faust tribute ever recorded.
