Salve Discordia

This Galician band has had one of the most interesting career paths in the contemporary Spanish scene of recent memory. From noise pop excursions to shoegaze ethereal beauty, few bands can master such different extremes of cacophony without sacrificing catchiness. Salve Discordia is perhaps the album where all their different explorations come together thanks to their prodigious songwriting sensibility, resulting in songs like the anthemic yet caustic “Gallo Negro Se Levanta,” the subversive pop of “Seguidores,” and “Baile Sumeria,” which seems to redefine dance punk.
