Scott 3

Scott Walker never quite reached the same commercial heights after Scott 2 but 1969’s Scott 3 still charted highly and, thanks in large part to his evident interest in both further audio experimentation in concert with regular orchestrator Angela Morley and his own ambitious, cryptic songwriting, became just as central for his long term critical appreciation. Jacques Brel covers like the melodramatic “If You Go Away” concluded the effort but otherwise it was a stream of originals such as the dreamy “Big Louise” and the mesmerizing “It’s Raining Today.”
