Seamonsters

Released

Following an EP session that worked out well, the Wedding Present joined up with Steve Albini once more for his engineering expertise on 1991’s Seamonsters, resulting in a dramatic, remarkable high water moment for the band. David Gedge’s rough-voiced tales of emotional wreckage and interpersonal angst sounded even better than ever, the rushed indie-pop of earlier efforts becoming subtly darker charges, frenetic energy with a real bite on songs like “Dalliance” and “Heather.”
