On her second solo album, Yorkshire folksinger Kate Rusby brings more of her original tunes to the session: “Sho Heen,” “Sweet Bride,” and “All God’s Angels” are all hers, while most of the rest of the album is given over to traditional songs like “I Wonder What Is Keeping My True Love This Night” and “The Duke and the Tinker.” There is also, however, a lovely rendition of Iris Dement’s “Our Town.” Everything is delivered in the style established with her first album: carefully minimal acoustic accompaniment designed to showcase Rusby’s remarkable voice.
