The King of Limbs

Released

While Radiohead had become famous for road-testing a lot of songs that would eventually see release in later studio form, for The King of Limbs they decided to work more from the ground-up via sampling and experimentation away from the stage, and the resulting album was one of the most divisive they’d yet released, partially due to it being their shortest album they’d yet made. But the focus led to songs that sunk in well with relistens, the band well settled into a mode of tense, weird beauty on tunes like “Morning Mr Magpie” and “Lotus Flower.”
