The Proletariat had a unique sound among Boston hardcore punk bands: tight, trebly, and disciplined, with highly political lyrics that were sometimes schematic and almost abstract and sometimes very direct and pointed. This two-disc set brings together all of their recordings, and while the consistency of their sound might make it a bit tiring to listen to all in a sitting, the music makes a very effective sinus cleanser in measured doses.
