06:21:03:11 Up Evil

Released

The closest Front 242 came to a mainstream American breakthrough was 1993, with the group featuring on the Lollapalooza main stage that year as well as releasing not one but two albums on Sony, clearly eager to have a Nine Inch Nails-level effort of their own. Certainly the stern, thrilling pound of lead single “Religion” from the first album, 06:21:03:11 Up Evil – no guesses what the numbers in fact stand for – made for a roaring anthem, but there’s intriguing variations in style throughout the album, from the understated “Stratoscape” to the pounding crunch of “Motion.”
