Archivio Futuro

As a producer the Italian Lorenzo BITW has a way of combining unlikely global influences like UK funky, Angola kuduro, house, and dancehall, somehow managing to make it sound coherent and fun. As part of the duo Archivio Futuro he does it again, this time going a little darker and melding electronic and acoustic sounds with drummer Danilo Menna, who provides a solid prog rock foundation to his electronic productions. The record revolves around Jung’s theory of dreams, and alongside a mutable sax that weaves its way through the album, it’s this theme that holds everything together: whether it’s the club-oriented sounds of “Fracture,” the jazzy atmospheres of “Dazed” or “Eliolite,” or the UK garage beats of “Terra di Mezzo,” Archivio Futuro has a dreamlike aura to it, from its most tranquil to its most feverish.
