Clicks & Cuts

Released

It’s not true that the first Clicks & Cuts compilation from 2000 gave birth to an entire genre, but it’s pretty close. Released by the Mille Plateaux label to showcase a number of acts obsessed with what was termed ’glitch,’ where interruptions, electronic artifacts and more worked against expectations of electronic music as smooth or sterile, Clicks & Cuts became the defining showcase for the sound, leading to further explorations in both pop and underground contexts for years to come.
