Coming Down

Daniel Ash was poised for a little extra attention after his vocal lead on Love and Rockets’s smash American hit “So Alive,” so when the band took a break for a couple of years it was little surprise that for the first time he released work under his own name with Coming Down. While not as commercially successful it’s a striking indulgence in the best of ways, featuring a clutch of covers like “Day Tripper” and “Me and My Shadow” along with loud and murmuring originals, many of which feature striking additional vocals from the then-emerging singer Natacha Atlas.
