Did anyone ever capture the sound of having the best time and the worst time at the same time better than Sky Ferreira? This irritated and jacked up hyper-rock only happened once, much like early punk highs (maybe the first Undertones album). At the bottom of this bootleg cocktail is Blondie and Suicide and the Strokes, along with lots of synthetic stimulants and cheap well liquor. Nobody asked if Sky was OK, and she remembered that. If you saw her live around this album, you may remember her shining strobe lights directly at the audience, making it impossible to photograph her or pay attention—which is maybe how it feels in her head? Night Time, My Time is like sitting two booths away from someone having a breakdown at The Magician, thirty minutes from closing and days away from sleep.
