Lucas and his SP-404 are a one man processing center, channeling decades of Black American music and free-minded poets into a post-pandemic fire. Lucas’s gentle and anti-virtuosic singing brings him closer into sync with a band like Sault, or some of SZA’s more chaotic moments.
