Planetas Muertos

Released

A space rock odyssey that makes use of both fringe electronics and riff-centric guitars in labyrinthine songs. Opener “Tres” sounds as if Rush studied Warp Records’ early catalog, a trend that continues with “Muerte en Júpiter” thanks to its odd-time signature riffs that morph into savage drum n’ bass. The album’s crowning moment comes with the three-part suite “Collider 70” starting with “Spectral Exay”’s glitchy electronics flowing into the pensive “Sinaloa” and closing with “Frankie The Shoe,” a monstrous stoner rock groove that gives way to a flamenco-over-glitches breakdown.
