Sheer Heart Attack

Released

Third time was the commercial charm for Queen, with 1974’s Sheer Heart Attack becoming not only their biggest release yet at home but their American breakout as well, setting the band firmly on its path to near-universal fame. The sprightly, saucy and not a little Sparks-touched “Killer Queen” perfectly demonstrated how their effusive approach to pop worked, Freddie Mercury clearly having a blast, while everything from the ripping opener “Brighton Rock” and “Stone Cold Crazy” to the throwback wackiness of “Bring Back That Leroy Brown” simply shone.
