The music, recorded in bursts during whirlwind touring, embraced a wide, wild range, with brawling glam monsters like the Iggy Pop tribute “The Jean Genie” and “The Cracked Actor,” the dramatic cabaret of “Time” and “Lady Grinning Soul” and the twisted 50s pastiche of “Drive-In Saturday” among the many highlights.
