Flower of Life

After several years of gigging and singles – not to mention dealing with a pandemic – TÜLIPS veteran Taleen Kali’s long in the works full-length solo debut appeared in 2023. At once a blast of punk pop mania and a sometimes roaring, sometimes dreamy and woozy shoegaze trip, Flower of Life hits a high from the start, Kali’s strong voice cutting through the catchy mayhem she and her excellent backing band whip up. Whether it’s swooning sentiments on “Only Lovers Left Alive,” the tense burn of “Fine Line” or the sly snark of “Trash Talk,” it’s all a total treat.
